Wave: A Video Centric Theme for WordPress
Wave is a beautiful and flexible theme catered to those that want to build a video focused site.

Important note for users upgrading from previous versions – the blog, video, and featured categories will be reset when you install Wave 1.3. As soon as you active it, head to the Theme Settings panel and select the appropriate category for each from the new pull-down menus.
- NEW WP 2.9+ Post Thumbnails – old method still in tact.
- NEW Support for self-hosted videos via the FLV Embed plugin.
- NEW Post author to video and blog post templates.
- NEW URL and embed code snippet to video post template.
- NEW Recent videos widget created since the list was removed from the footer.
- Fixed a bug that would allow the dropdown menus to hide behind videos in some versions of Firefox.
- Fixed 125×125 buttons widget to allow use of non-image ads, such as AdSense.
- Fixed the 404.php template which was broken in the previous version.
- Fixed a bug that prevented code from being escaped properly in the head include. * Fixed a bug that was introduced in version 1.3 that prevented the featured category from being properly determined on the homepage. * Fixed a bug that caused the embed field in video posts to break in some situations.
- Completely re-coded about half of the templates to make them easier to customize.
- Reduced homepage template to 2 columns.
- Minimalized footer to only include copyright and credits.
- Removed the play icons from thumbnails to make it easier to customize the colour scheme.
- Updated bundled TimThumb to version 1.12.
- Changed how Post Thumbnails are handled.
- Better implementation for selecting the blog, video, and featured categories from the Theme Settings panel.
- Lots of other behind-the-scenes fixes and improvements to make the templates easier to work with.
- Bundled help documentation with the theme itself, so it can be accessed from WP-Admin.
Main Features
- Support for any size video, up to 920px wide. Flag high definition videos with an “hd” tag and the theme displays them in full width, and adds an “HD” button in archive indexes.
- Post videos from anywhere! From third party services, to VideoPress, to self-hosted videos.
- Don’t like the grungy textures? Enable the “Clean it Up!” option to smooth things out.
- Heading and links colour is selected by the user via a colour picker in WP-Admin.
- Dynamic image resizing for various thumbnails used through-out the theme.
- Custom built theme settings panel within WP-Admin that allows you to customize the theme without editing any templates.
- Both sidebars are widgetized.
- Custom widgets for the 3 main ad spots (4 125×125 buttons, 300×250 big box, 160×600 skyscraper), along with recent posts and recent videos.
- Flexible logo space allows images up to 920px wide and any height. Image path and dimensions are entered in WP-Admin.
- Super lean markup and CSS , makes advanced customization a pleasure.
- Tested on Windows and Mac – IE6 -8, Firefox 2 & 3, and Safari 3 & 4. Some details are toned down for older versions of IE, but nothing is broken.
- Support for FLV Embed, Subscribe to Comments, Twitter Tools, WP-PageNavi, WP-PostRatings plugins out of the box.
- Original PSD included!
Requirements
- For versions of WP prior to 2.9, Wave uses Tim McDaniels’ TimThumb script for resizing the images used in the featured posts sections and in archive listings.TimThumb requires the GD library, which is available on any host sever with PHP 4 .3+ installed.
- Alex King’s Twitter Tools plugin is required for the Twitter status updates widget.

First – read the help documentation that came bundled with the theme. It is also available on the theme’s live preview site.
